# Snapchat Lead Forms

> Connect a Snapchat lead form, send a test lead, and match its fields to yours.

A Snapchat lead form opens inside the Snapchat app when someone swipes up on your lead ad. EventsIQ
receives each lead from Snapchat the moment it is submitted, translates its answers into your fields,
and routes it like any other lead.

Snapchat sends every lead once, straight away. Snapchat has no way to ask for past leads, so there
is no catch up later. That is why it matters that the connection stays working (see
[Keeping it working](#keeping-it-working)).

## What you'll need

- A Snapchat login that is an **Organization Admin** in Snapchat Business Manager for the ad
    account that runs the form. Snapchat only lets an admin switch on lead delivery.
- The lead form already created in Snapchat Ads Manager.
- A [routing](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/routing) to send the leads to, or you can attach one later.

## Step 1: Start a new form

Go to **Forms**, click **New form**, give it a name and pick **Snapchat lead form**. On **Where
leads go**, pick a routing and click **Continue**, or click **Decide later**.

## Step 2: Connect Snapchat and pick the form

1. If no Snapchat account is connected yet, click **Connect Snapchat**. Snapchat's sign in opens in a
   new tab, so the wizard keeps your place. Approve everything it asks for, come back, and click
   **Refresh accounts**. To use a different login, click **Connect another account**.
2. Pick the **Snapchat login**, then the **Ad account**. Each is picked for you when there is only
   one. Type in any box to search.
3. Pick the **Lead form**. Forms already connected to EventsIQ are marked **Already connected**.
4. Click **Connect lead form**.

Connecting switches lead delivery on at Snapchat for that form, so leads start arriving straight
away. Nothing changes at Snapchat until you press **Connect lead form**.

:::warning{title="If Snapchat lists no ad accounts or no forms"}
The login can only see what it has a role on in Snapchat Business Manager. Check that it is an
Organization Admin on the ad account, then [reconnect](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/connections#reconnecting).
:::

## Step 3: Send a test lead

Because Snapchat cannot be asked for past leads, the field matching starts empty. Fill it with a
test lead:

1. Open the form and go to its **Connection** tab.
2. Click **Send a test lead**, wait a moment, then click **Check for delivered leads**.
3. The test lead shows up and the next step can match its answers.

A test lead is **stored for matching and never sent to a destination**, so it is safe with a live
routing. It shows as **A test lead** on the form's page.

:::note{title="Use the button in EventsIQ"}
Snapchat sends the same sample lead whichever form it is for, so EventsIQ only accepts a test lead it
asked for in the last hour. Send tests with the **Send a test lead** button here, not from
Snapchat's own screens.
:::

## Step 4: Match up the fields

Check that each answer lands in the right EventsIQ field: phone in phone, email in email. Click
**Do it for me** to match everything EventsIQ recognises, then fix the rest by hand. See
[Fields](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/fields).

## What EventsIQ keeps from each lead

Besides the answers, every Snapchat lead carries its ad account, form, campaign, ad squad and ad, by
id and by name. An EventsIQ [campaign](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/campaigns) on this form claims that Snapchat
campaign's spend, so [Reports](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/reports) show cost and revenue together once
[cost tracking](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/integrations) is on.

## More you can do with Snapchat

- **Send sales back.** A Snapchat Conversion API in [Integrations](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/integrations) sends
    conversions to one of your Snap Pixels. Pick the event from Snapchat's own list. A
    **PURCHASE** needs the sale value and currency.
- **Read ad spend.** Cost tracking reads each campaign's spend every hour, in the ad account's own
    currency and time zone.
- **Stop paying for people who already converted.** A **Snapchat suppression list** event on a
    [routing](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/routing) adds each sold lead to one of the customer lists already on your ad
    account. See [Global events](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/global-events).
- **Website leads from Snapchat ads.** Snapchat adds its click id (`ScCid`) to your landing page
    link by itself. EventsIQ keeps it with the lead and sends it with the conversion. See
    [Click tracking](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/click-tracking).

## Keeping it working

- A Snapchat sign in is renewed automatically every few minutes. If Snapchat refuses it, the
    connection shows **Reconnect needed** on [Connections](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/connections) and you are alerted.
    A short Snapchat outage does not count.
- **Leads sent while a connection is broken cannot be collected later**, because Snapchat keeps no
    list of past leads for us to read. Reconnect as soon as you see the alert.
- If lead volume drops suddenly, check [Connections](https://www.eventsiq.io/docs/connections) first.
